Achievements

In the time we have been in existence we have seen a glimpse of what we dream of. Teenagers who begun without much hope, having undergone too much too early in life with some coming to the brink of ending their lives have begun seeing life in a whole new way. The challenges are still there, even more so, but their hope, faith and belief has also increased. It has been an incredible period, with of them rejoining secondary schools, discovering a new sense of purpose, seeing things they had never seen before and experiencing things they had only dreamed of. This only increases our determination and against seemingly insurmountable challenges we have the confidence we will overcome and Mathare will change. Lives of people in Mathare are being changed. And that is what matters most to us. Utilizing what we have and through support from different quarters we have managed to make some headway that includes the following:-

- Support seven girls in joining and continuing with their education in secondary schools
- Participate in intensive leadership training
- Become a part of organizing and actively participating in the “Abide Youth Camp” in August 2006
- Offer weekly mentoring and teaching to St. James Primary School, Mathare
- Work with a church in Mathare to run a “Kids Club” where the children are taught and fed every Saturday.
- Organize successful development forums for the students during school holidays
- Provide assistance such as food, clothing, etc
