WOW II - The wisdom of the geese

Adapted from Shadow of Things to Come by Rick Joyner

“Geese are remarkable birds. Each flock of geese has a form of government that is popularly known as “the pecking order.” Those who try to rise out of their place in the flock will have to fight, and subdue, geese on a level above them. This may sound brutal, but it is in reality the way most human groups also act. While we are earth bound, there will always be bickering and infighting about the “pecking order,” but as long as we are going somewhere, soaring above the earth, the leadership position will not matter to us. I think this, too, is biblical. In the first century we see the leadership of the church going from Peter to James to Paul and then to John. In the church today we see ministries emerge that help take the whole church a little further, and then they seem to give way to another one. When geese fly, they also fly in formation, but this has a very different purpose from the ability of one goose to dominate another. As each goose flaps its wings, it creates an uplift for the birds that follow. In flight, the lead goose must cut through the wind while all of the others are drafting behind each other. By drafting this way, the rest of the flock is using about 20 percent less effort than the leader. Therefore, the leader tires much more quickly than the others, requiring a change of leadership if the flock is to keep pace, which is frequently done. By flying in a V formation, the whole flock adds 71 percent greater flying range than if each bird flew alone. Likewise, people who share a common direction and sense of community can get where they are going more quickly and easily because they are traveling on the thrust of one another. When the lead goose tires, it rotates back into the formation, and another goose flies into that point position. Geese take turns being the leader. If geese did not do this, the whole flock would be greatly limited in its range and speed.” – Rick Joyner

Lepta is run by a team. Its founders are Antony, John, Andrew, Rose, Mary, Grace and Steve. We work together as a team. The seven form the epicenter which is the core leadership of Lepta. The leadership of the whole team and organization shifts from individual to another every fourth month. All decisions in Lepta are made by this team as a whole. The whole team, other than one, has been raised in and currently live in or next to Mathare . All have a great desire to see Mathare change. All are also young and in very many ways not qualified. For some it has been one of the first things they have done straight from high school. Others are still in school. Yet we are determined and we have begun to see the fruits of our labors.

We know this for a fact, if you want it bad enough, no matter what your background or lack of qualifications you can attain your desires. And as you pursue with all you have you will be amazed at how much you will achieve.
